ContemporaryThis is a modern 'free' style of dance that is characterised by the use of a flexible, relaxed torso, contraction and release movements and the exploration of innovative movements of body parts. This style may have the grace a flow of classical ballet or be more quirky and angular.
Hip HopThis is an urban 'street' style of dance performed to current music. Hip hop can be relaxed, slow and lyrical or upbeat, hard-hitting and aggressive. Junior classes teach this style within an age-appropriate, up-to-date framework. Senior 'open' classes are taught by current industry professionals who are at the cutting edge of this current genre.
AcrobaticsTumbling has become a feature of theatrical dancing, so this class is for dancers looking to extend their skills in this direction. Students develop strength and flexibility as they learn to do cartwheels, walkovers and aerial feats.
commercial jazzCommercial Jazz is an urban, sassy variation of Jazz as used in many current film clips.
LyricalLyrical is an expressive, slow style of Jazz. This is taught in both Contempoary and Jazz classes.
special danceFor children and adults with mild-moderate intellectual and physical disabilities, the content of these fun Jazz Dance classes is driven by the needs, interests and abilities of each group. Teachers are fexperienced in special education and work with assistants so 1-on-1 support can be offered where needed. All students have opportunities to participate in public performances.
adult danceClasses are offered in Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap Dance for adults of all ages and abilities.
