It is not just our physical facilities that are A1 at Cathy-Lea, but our positive community that provides a safe and nurturing environment within which students can shine. We focus on developing positive self-image, a culture of optimism and recognising individual achievements. We do not tolerate nasty or competitive behaviour in students or parents. We have high expectations of students and challenge them to excel yet we exercise patience, kindness and good humour in our teaching practice.
We are delighted that a strong cohort of our students stay friends for life and attend one another’s significant life events into adulthood. We are also delighted to now be teaching the children of some of our foundation students. Cathy-Lea also employs many of its graduates in both teaching and administrative roles.
Performing arts may be a career for a few, but it will be a hobby for many more who will gain a great deal from involvement in the Cathy-Lea community. We run annual discos, cabarets and social events so students have the opportunity to extend friendships initiated in classes. We believe that Cathy-Lea offers a caring and safe recreational, social and vocational environment for young people as they grow and develop.
