Cathy-Lea is proud of its outstanding teaching faculty, all of whom are highly qualified teachers and performance professionals. Cathy-Lea staff practice SafeDance and are registered with various professional associations including AusDance, Cecchetti International Classical Ballet, the Australian Teachers of Dancing and the Southern Federation of Dance.
Luke Mc Connell started dancing at Cathy-Lea Dance Works at the age of 5 and went on to complete top-level examinations in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap. He won many awards at eisteddfods as a solo performer and in 2015 he won the David Atkins Award which is national award for aspiring theatrical performers.
Luke is currently studying a Diploma of Musical Theatre at Kelly Aykers Fulltime Dance Studios.
In 2015, he performed as a backup dancer for Nathaniel Williamsen at the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl, and was flown to Sydney to perform for both Brandcast and Youtube Fanfest which drew crowds of up to 13,000 people. He also worked with reputable choreographers such as Alana Scanlan, Kelly Aykers and Luke Alleva in venues such as The National Theatre, Palais Theatre and The Forum Theatre. In 2014 he featured in the TVC for Dancing With The Stars.
Luke travelled to the USA in 2013 where he performed in Disneyland and at Universal Studios.
In 2016 he completed teacher accreditation with The Acrobatic Dance Association of Australia.
