Cathy-Lea is proud of its outstanding teaching faculty, all of whom are highly qualified teachers and performance professionals. Cathy-Lea staff practice SafeDance and are registered with various professional associations including AusDance, Cecchetti International Classical Ballet, the Australian Teachers of Dancing and the Southern Federation of Dance.

Loren Thomas (M.S.F.D.) is an award-winning choreographer who has taught dance in various settings across Melbourne.
Trained at Himing School of Dance then Cathy-Lea Academy, Loren completed studies in Cecchetti Ballet, and SFD Tap and Jazz, completing her teachers' qualifications with the Southern Federation of Dance.
Loren was an instructor of the Southern Federation of Dance Hip Hop syllabus, running teacher seminars across Australia. She has taught Hip Hop in high schools in the Noble Park, Springvale, Keysborough & Dandenong area as well as a recreational program at Springvale Community and Health Centre.
Loren has also been employed by the City of Greater Dandenong to run holiday workshops for school-aged children. She has choreographed primary school productions.
Her Tap and Jazz troupes have won many awards at inter-school eisteddfods.
Loren has taught dance at Cathy-Lea since 2000 and is now the mother of 3 young children.
