Cathy-Lea is proud of its outstanding teaching faculty, all of whom are highly qualified teachers and performance professionals. Cathy-Lea staff practice SafeDance and are registered with various professional associations including AusDance, Cecchetti International Classical Ballet, the Australian Teachers of Dancing and the Southern Federation of Dance.

Amy Pyke trained at Cathy-Lea from the age of 3.
She has completed all her exams in Tap and Jazz with the Southern Federation of Dance, and has completed Cecchetti Ballet to Advanced 1 level. During her 15 years as a student at Cathy-Lea, she competed at numerous eisteddfods, winning many sections including the Open Tap championship at both Warragul and Southern Federation of Dance competitions. She was also awarded the Southern Federation of Dance Outstanding Achievement Award.
After VCE, Amy completed 2 years of full-time dance training at Jason Coelman's Ministry of Dance.
She was a regular performer with Showtime Productions appearing in various pantomimes, and the Australian tour of Looney Tunes Live: Classroom Capers. She has performed at many corporate events, including dancing at the State Theatre for the Australian Dance Awards, dancing at multiple events at Crown Casino, and performing in a televised episode of Shaun Micallef’s comedy show, “Newstopia”. She also performed with Paul Malek's Project Y Youth Contemporary Dance Company for 2 years.
Amy has danced as a professional cheerleader for the past 3 years with the Melbourne Tigers.
She has just completed a Bachelor of Education majoring in Dance and Mathematics and now works as a secondary school teacher but still finds time to teach at Cathy-Lea!
